Our jumbos are fortunate to live together as one social community in our Heavenly Covey Castle—never jailed in rows of wire cells or packed in like dirty sardines. They mingle, explore, choose companions, dust-bathe, hide, whistle, squabble and settle into the shade as quail were meant to. Every Sunday, with our jumbo net ready and Ricky Bobby—the Great Herdsman—watching over them, they enjoy supervised free-range time on our golf green. We never worry about them flying or running off; they always come home to their Heavenly Covey Castle.

Inside the castle, they live on clean pine shavings with food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE) and play sand, surrounded by Birds of Paradise, night jasmine and hibiscus—with the sound of the pool waterfall and Ricky Bobby watching over the covey.

Choco-Story Uxmal

Near the Uxmal archaeological zone, this seven-hectare museum tells cacao’s journey through pre-Columbian Maya life—as drink, tribute and currency—then brings it forward through a cacao garden, a traditional ceremony and a demonstration of pre-Hispanic chocolate preparation.

The museum stands at kilometer 78 of the old Mérida–Campeche highway, beside a 300-hectare cacao plantation: a real place where the history behind our Mayan-inspired bonbon can be seen, smelled and tasted.

Our center honors that story through bright maracuyá, Mayan sea-salted dulce de leche caramelo and fire-roasted pepitas—three layers of fruit, caramel, salt and seed inside Belgian milk chocolate.

The proposed Travieso Truffle is a modern, Mayan-inspired confection in sample development, imagined to carry the cacao story from Yucatán to the Chocolate Covey at Ricky Bobby Farms. Final ingredients, maker and production remain subject to written agreement.

Mexican Quails Are Not Coturnix

“Quail” is a shared common name, not one close family. Montezuma quail and many other native Mexican quails are New World quails in Odontophoridae. Ricky Bobby Farms raises Japanese quail, Coturnix japonica, in Phasianidae.

Wild-species conservation research builds appreciation; it is not a substitute for domestic Coturnix incubation or husbandry guidance.
